Shannox

Good news, everyone! On Thursday the 11th, instead of going in BWD like we had planned due to a warlock being a bit late, although we knew that was going to happen. So, the RL polled for common consensus and  we went to farm Firelands Trash. And then when the ‘lock got on, we decided “hey, why not just keep on doing this and work on SHannox some more? We can always just do BWD sat or something.” We cleared enough trash that Shannox appeared (and got 3 epics and one epic pattern in the process, woot woot). After one wipe, during which our main tank our our tank’s healer’s computer (I’m not really clear on this) randomly decided to restart. Ooooops. WIPE.

But then… but then, on the next pull, we did it. Cleanly. The only person that died was the MT, literally 2 seconds before Shannox died. And we got an Eternal Ember, which, after much discussion, went to the warlock.

Our not-very-complicated strategy:

Kill Rageface.

-easy enough, just focus the dog

Take Shannox to 35% and then kill Riplimb.

-we postioned our Riplimb tank in such a way that the stacks would reset with just the dk slow.

Kill Shannox.

So, uhm, hi again?

Have I mentioned my Druid(alienea) and Shaman(She was Shaniana but now she’s Ielia on a RP realm) are both 85? No?

…Now I have.

…Uhhhh.

So.

I’ve been playing WoW.

I’ve been having fun!

Those Thrall Quests? My druid gets near them and “OMG LAG AHHH” it goes down to one frame per MINUTE. My shaman breezed through them.

I’ve got a 65 priest now.

And a 21 pally.

…So my dreams of getting an 85 of all healing classes are that much closer to completion.

I stopped running heroics on my druid a while ago. She has a standing invite to a guild that she could raid with.

My shaman is looking for a rp/raiding guild (If you’re on Wyrmrest Accord with a strange raiding schedule and you Rp, send her a mail. Ielia, the draenei shaman.)

My priest is ..well, leveling.

My paladin is actually a tank because my cousin is playing wow and leveling with a healer spec, so she needs a tank.

Oh, I’ve also got a goblin. I roleplay on her, she’s a warrior, and it is because of her I RealID broadcasted “I’m 4 feet tall, and I have a shield. POINT ME AT THE GIGANTIC MONSTERS!”

Well I have lots of alts.

I deleted Eagleb. I …well, she wasn’t getting used, and I didn’t need her that much.

Oh, I also have a 73 DK named Balrial on WA.

I’m alive.

I’ve just not been blogging.

/signs off until next time I feel like posting something.

Yessssss. Blog post time… *watches downloader* oh, yeah, blog post.

TO DO LIST:

Respec Druid, Shaman, Death Knight, Priest, Warlock, Hunter. Check other realms, respec paladin.

Druid: Feral/90%sure Resto. Although, I might just leave it blank or not log back on to my druid. She’s logged in Tree form, dancing with her tedrassil sproutling. Oh, who am I kidding, I love my druid, and I love healing and faceripping. Feral/Resto she is!

I’m going with this for feral and this for resto. Feral is focused more on leveling, while resto is still orientated towards healing groups, still. I’m going to grab furor as I level her in cata in resto– who could pass up 15% more mana?

Shaman: Resto/Something. Ehn has WOLVES. *cough* And she’s lost riptide to my great annoyance, because I was loving having a HoT to use on her.

Death Knight: Blood. She’s my RP char, and although I’ve moved a bit away from her blood-hysteria rage, I’ve been building towards having her get a bit more violent again, because frost and unholy is something the other 2 people are, and we don’t really WANT to switch. I love rune tap too much to give it up like that.

Priest: Lvl 8(or)13. PEW PEW LAZERS! I made the mistake of putting point in holy on my lvl 13 priest, but now she’s going to have lazers, and so will my lvl 8 priest when she gets to 10. Although furbolgs just LOVE to eat her.

Warlock: Always been a demonologist on her, and she’s staying that way. Felguard!

Hunter: Beast Mastery! MY hunter has always been BM and she’ll always be BM.

Paladin: Gosh, I think I have a paladin I’m not really sure, but she’s going to go healer or tank. Healer… and I’d have one alt of every healer… tank.. and I’d have a tank. I’ll think about it.

Everyone: Have fun with patch 4.01, but remember to mourn the trees!

CONCUSSION FLOWCHART!

Please to keep in mind that these are exaggerated opinions, brought on by a concussion.

I made the lol!diagram? myself.

Raid Enters Room:

Alienea: Can I have a table, Akomar?
Akomar: -sighes- Sure.

(Begins to conjure and then notices raid)

Akomar: Tsk, more people to kill us.

Alienea: Well, poot.

Alienea cackles maniacally

Alienea: We’ll just have to kill them!

Grievous: Regrettable, but necessary indeed.

Akomar: Must I spam 2 buttons again?

Grievous dies

Grievous: I’ll.. see you… again.

Akomar: Oh, how annoying.

Alienea: Grievous! No!

Alienea dies

Alienea: Curses… avenge us… Akomar….

Here is the LOL!DIAGRAM? for how to kill us.

Lol diagram!

<=D? Now let me get back to studying for finals because my 15min break is almost up.

The Death of a Bear

If you’re not J or V, then you don’t know about this. But a week or so ago, I had a run of truly terrible PuGs. I kept on getting dps that outgeared me and refused to pull back their dps. To give you an idea, they had 5-6k GS’s and I had around a 4.5. They would run around doing 5-6-7k of dps while my measly 1k tank dps tried to hold aggro. It didn’t work, and every time they yelled, they blamed me, and they wouldn’t tone back on the dps.

So after telling dps to stop and tone it back numerous times in one day, I got fed up. I realize that this was just a bad day, but honestly, I was annoyed. I’m a moonkin/tree now. And frankly, I see no reason to go back. I know that tanks are scarce enough, but maybe dps should think of that. I’m going to stick with restobear, though, because come Cata I’m going to pop back into sweet, sweet feral form for leveling. And then I’ll be a Bearkin! The restoration side of this blog will come solely form the shaman, and she’s level 44 now.

I apologize to all the dps who do tone it back, who do help the tank, and now will have longer queues. Slap some sense into the ∂嵘´∂ foolish dps who won’t do anything of the sort, and may the gods of the game be with you.

Hello again

mm-hmm. My computer hates secure connections. Welcome back from the holidays with a HoR run-through.

You enter the unhallowed halls and a chill runs down your spine… the chill…. of much text. I won’t spoil it for you, but after a few times it gets boring and a bit ho-hum, get on with it. Eventually the Lich King will come down the hallway and speak… MORE. At this point you begin to wonder if anything will ever become attackable. However, those fears soon go away as the Lich King calls in his two companions…. Falric and Marwyn!

This will begin a fight like in the Violet Hold. After 5 waves of ghosts, with 3-4 ghosts to a wave, Falric will engage. This will be a lot easier if you have someone who can dispell magic in your group. If you don’t, expect a death or two but work very hard to prevent that. There will be fears, magic DoTs, and lots of damage all around. Keep HoTs up on everyone during this fight, and if you have glpyh of swiftmend, you’ll be saving yourself a lot of re-applications.  Once you take him down, on normal you might get a nice helm upgrade(Fallen Sentry’s Hood, ilvl219). After the last ghost waves, you’ll come to fight Falric’s Deathknight like brother, Marywn.

If Falric was horrible for you, you probably won’t like Marwyn either. Don’t bother dispelling his effects, because one of them will split the damage to everyone. For the healers, it’s like Falric. Roll the HoTs on everyone, and toss a lifebloom or two on those who have a well of corruption, or, if you prefer, dark purple hard to see circle that does damage. They need to run out of that, by the way, because otherwise they will die horribly. Marwyn has Frayed Abomination Stitching Shoulders on normal and Ephemeral Snowflake, a yummy trinket for those having problem in mana regen or looking to shuffle gems. He’ll also drop Sightless Crown of Ulmaas and Suspiciously Soft Gloves.

Tanks, if you can hold aggro on all of these, it’s a tank n’ spank. If you’re low on health, pop your emergency buttons one at a time and don’t yell at your healers “OMG WHERE ARE TEH HEALS!?” We’re healing you just as fast as we can, and yelling at us does not increase our haste. Falric will give you a nice cloak:Eerie Runeblade Polisher(which Marwyn drops also) on normal and Spaulders of Black Betrayal on heroic. Marwyn will give you Carpal Tunnelers on normal(along with cloak) and Choking Hauberk on heroic.

Then… when these 2 people are vanquished, you will walk up the hallways to the Lich King only to see (Insert Faction Appropriate person here) almost dead against the might of the Lich King. She’ll freeze him, giving your group a head start as you flee from his wrath. He’ll put up 4 ice barriers that your faction person will break down. This will only happen once you’ve killed the waves of ghouls the Lich King will send to slow you down. You’ve got to hurry to hurry in this process, because he’s slowly walking towards you, and if he catches up you are dead. D-E-A-D, even shadowmelded. (As I found out from a PuG). And since this final boss drops so many pieces both restoration and feral druids can use, I’m linking it to you and muttering something about haste and celestial focus.

Rant about tank druid gear.

SERIOUSLY, WHAT’S UP WITH IT!? We are rolling against all other melee leather users (well, that’s really rogues. And cat druids. But still!! There’s a bunch of them! And nub ehn shamans/hunters). We just gem differently, really. I get much more gear healing because only moonkins want my gear, and even then there’s generally a nice line saying this is resto and this is balance.

But us Bear Tanks? We sit in a corner and watch everyone else get gear while we are falling behind, which generally means we have to switch stuff out and just roll on tanky stuff as OS while healing/lol MOONFARE spaming. I realize not all moonkins lol MOONFARE spam, but I’m trying to get to a DIFFERENT point. Maybe some of you are obscene gerund lucky about your rolls and you get your gear. Maybe you’re looking at this and thinking ‘Wow, way to blow it out of proportion, I get gear all the time.’ If that is you, I wish you good luck and stare at you enviously.

My guild is, -cough- a five-man guild, we rarely get more than 5-6 people on at a time. I raid in the harsh environment of guilds who need a few PuGs and can afford to be choosey and drop people. I still really need to get around to regemming, but my computer decided to corrupt the danged WoW file and I need to get around to reinstalling and repatching and guess what it’s the holiday season. But I digress. All these guilds are fair and I’ve not run into any loot councils, so I roll and get my loot. But I’m often told that my 30k bear tank is not good enough in complete PuGs, so I run healer and grab myself tanking gear that drops as offspec. It’s sad. I only tank in my guild now, and we’ve got a dps with an alt protadin who’s gathering gear. (I SWEAR WHEN I GET BACK ON I WILL PUSH YOU TO TANK EXACTLY AS YOU PUSHED ME! REVENGE!) So while I always get gear from there, it is measly heroic gear and we haven’t gone into the IC dungeons yet because it’s like herding cats getting us all on at the same time.

I wish we could expand to 10-man guildishness because then I could tank more. I would love to tank more. I love to tank. But when people in the raid I’m PuGing need it for their MS, no matter that I was tanking before dual-spec when I went tree and tree is more an offspec for me, guess what. Your MS is what you are in the raid as. I’m apparently only good enough to tank naxx that no one wants to go to anymore, but I’m good enough to heal TotC 25. *Goes off to call guildmaster and talk about sucking in friends to get to 10-man size*. So the only way I can know I’ll get gear, because our one and only rogue generally heals,(Edit-Clarification. The rogue has a priest alt, and heals on that. Not as a rogue.) is guild runs. There’s generally too many other people in guild runs unless I get lucky and they’re going to something that they don’t really need, they’re just doing for giggles. WE NEED MOAR TANKING LEATHER. Not homogenized leather that you can shove at dps and tanks! Next time I’m stuck for something to post I’ll throw my OMG BEAR TANKS GOING EXTINCT WHY!?!?!?!? rant at y’all.

Patch 3.3, Impressions pt 2

Dungeons.(updated)

I remember way back on the PTR when the forgemaster guys was bugged. He jumped away and never ever came back. Was sad =( I haven’t really gone into the new dungeons, so my advice here will be all from the last PTR patch before it was released. Sorry y’all, I will fix this situation. But anyhoo. Forge of Sauron, let’s start with that. The forgemaster is a pretty simple fight. Mostly. Keep him faced away from the group, because then they’ll know when he’s trying to throw saronite on them. When that happens, they need to run. NO I don’t care if it messes with your dps, do it! Once the big chunk of saronite is thrown, he’ll jump over to his forge and make himself a new weapon. (‘Now you’re making me angry!’, anyone?) Everyone needs to get behind the big chunk of saronite and kill the adds that spawn. He’ll be casting an AoE, but if you did what I told you to, and GOT BEHIND THE BIG CHUNK OF SARONITE, then you’ll be fine and not taking damage. This happens 2-3 times and then he’s dead on you get your pretty purple pixels. Just the usual keep HoTs up, blah blah for healing. Tanks…. erm…. just position yourselves and get behind the saronite and you should be fine.

Krick and Ick, anyone?

Ick, a plague bomb, eruptor, whatever is a minion to Krick the leper gnome, who’s a big pansy. This fight is,for healers, OMGOMGPOSIONCLEANSECLEANSEACKHEALTANNKHEALEREVERYONEAHHH! Or you can keep your cool, but I’m not to good at that. BAsically: Lots of stuff on the floor to move out of, AoE’s that you hopefully don’t have to worry about because you’re far enough away, RIGHT? RIGHT? and poison. And run away if they pursue you. EheheheheheheheheehhHAHAHAHAHAHA or they will go “lol2hitkolol”. Tanks, run away from green blobs on the ground. And occasionally, Krick will call out a bomb AoE you need to move away from. At the end, Ick dies and Krick is a big coward and is killed by mysterious figure A. -nodnod-

You know? I’ll finish this when I’m not half-delirious from needing sleep.

Then you get to run a gauntlet! You lucky people <3. Run as far up as you can, apply HoTs on all, because the mobs can randomly aggro onto the dps. Do NOT automatically assume it is the dps’ fault! ALWAYS check to make sure it wasn’t your fault. Tanks, pop your AoE aggro effects. ONCE you finish that, you’ll get into an icy cave where you need to stay out of green circles because you’ll get hurt if you stand in them like whatshimname, Hodir? Yeah. Hodir. Where eventually.. if you’ve been good… and you haven’t pouted or cried… you’ll come out and find…

SCOURGELORD TYRANNUS!(Mysterious Figure A) Give him a round of applause, ladies and gents, he got far enough in the arena season to win a frostwyrm! After a bit of dialogue, he’ll jump off of it and begin the fight. If you’ve got ranged dps, get them on him while he talks and then have the tank(maybe you, maybe not) pick him up when he drops. His frostwyrm, Rimefang will be flying overhead shooting frostbolts at people, and you can’t target him and kill him. If you get a big red arrow over your head, run around but not close to other people, because rimefang wants to be your BESTEST friend, but he doesn’t know how to do that any way but shooting frostbolts at you so you can be scourged. Now the Scourgelord has a powerful bit of spike damage that he’ll cast every so often. You need to have all hots on tank and be casting a big heal, or as a tank pop your survival instincts if you can see the healer won’t be able to make it. Now after he’s done this, he likes empowering himself. Remember how Rimefang wants to be your BESTEST friend? Run over the ice that he’s been shooting to slow down the scourgelord while he’s empowered, otherwise he’ll go “Lawlzpewpewpewyoudead!” Now if the dps receives the scourgelord’s mark, they need to STOP DOING DAMAGE and try not to get hurt, because their damage will be hurting the tank and healing done to them will be done to the scourgelord, but bigger heals. NO I DON’T CARE IT’S AFFECTING YOUR DPS, GO SIT IN A CORNER! Once you’ve done all of this and killed him, Rimefang will be sad watching his second bestest buddy die, and fly away. And you get more pretty purple pixels!

-Brought to you be only SLIGHTY hyper/sleepy (how does that work anyways?) Alienea. And I sprained my ankle and my pinkie finger, ow. And when I say tomorrow, I get around to it at night you if I say tomorrow on tuesday come back on thursday.

Edit: Updated post

2nd Edit:Fixed some typos

Patch 3.3, Impressions

Random Dungeon Tool:

I’ve had a good time with it. I haven’t gotten bad PuGs, ninja PuGs, no no no. Only good PuGs. You may be amazed now, but I think I just haven’t used it enough. Eventually, I’ll find the group where I /facepalm and toy with the idea of dropping. My druid actually hasn’t gotten much out of it except for badges, gold, and a ring she vendored. My shaman, however, has leveled and run out of rested experience, so she’s sitting around in Ironforge, having trained her new spells. Maybe she’ll get played some more today/tomorrow. However, whenever I enter as a healer/tank, what I invariably have to do is tank. So I switch off, tank to heals to tank to heals with different dungeons being run. The same was true on the PTR: enter as tank, you’re going to have to tank. Now, my advice for healers and tanks. Druids.

Tanks: be prepared to tell the dps that if they are pulling in the first few seconds, to back off. If they don’t, then >=( and tell them again. 3rd time, let them die. I’m going to put in a diagram here. (rummages around looking for how to add picture) …Once I figure out how, I will. But basically, be very cranky. CRANKY TANK. Always check that it really was their fault, however. Never good to falsly accuse someone!

Healers: Be prepared for the bad PuGs who stand in fire and stuff. Heal them when you can, but the priority chart here is:
———–
Tank/if tank is about to die and it can’t be stopped you(healer)
Healer
High dps/if tank is about die and it can’t be stopped highest health dps
Medium dps
Low dps
———–
Blanket rejuv if you have to (and their are some fights were you’ll likely have to–new dungeons while people are learning them, for one–) And if you keep on wiping and you’re giving out your best heals, then you should politely ask why do people think you’re wiping so much.

Now for something completely different.

I have a devart, and I posted on something of Bellwether’s.(her blog: http://4haelz.blogspot.com/) She responded. <=D made me happy. She was first resto druid blogger I read, which made me think I could try it, even if I went tank and healer. And now I’ve got to toddle off and have dinner. And finish up my paper. And….etc.
